The largest of our programs for Youth and Family is the Sin Fronteras Youth Group, in which roughly 100 high school students meet weekly for social, informational, character development and leadership activities. These students also participate and perform in HCC fundraisers, help to clean and maintain our building, provide childcare during adult classes, staff our Kids Camp attended by over 130 children each summer, and much more.
HCC’s Youth and Family programs also include Nurturing Parenting classes, a Moms Literacy group for women learning English and life skills, a “Girls Only” group that works to build empowerment and solidarity among middle school girls from immigrant families, and a variety of intergenerational community events such as Loteria (Bingo Night), Dia de Los Muertos, celebration of La Posada, and more.
More information on our youth and family programs will be available soon on this site. To find out more, call Nilka Melendez or Mariela Delgado at 407-880-4673, ext. 241.
