Citizenship Program Assistant/Part Time
Essential Job Functions and Tasks
- Prepares data for computer entry by compiling and sorting information; establishing entry priorities.
- Processes registration & student documents by reviewing data for deficiencies; resolving discrepancies by using standard procedures or returning incomplete documents to the Citizenship Program Coordinator for resolution.
- Enters registration and student data by inputting alphabetic and numeric information in clear and organized manner.
- Verifies entered registration & student data by reviewing, correcting, or deleting data; combining data from multiple systems when student information is incomplete; purging files to eliminate duplication of data.
- Maintains student confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
- Performs intake & other administrative duties for Citizenship Program, like administering CASAS test exam.
- Supports Program Coordinator with data in preparation of quarterly grant report.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Engage in staff and immigration meetings, and development opportunities.
- Other tasks as needed. Qualifications and Skills required
- Bilingual (English/Spanish). – Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong relational skills and cross-cultural understanding and sensitivity.
- Experience working with low-income people and people with low literacy and levels of formal education.
- Excellent interpersonal and organization skills.
- Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively, detail oriented and self-directed.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Excel and Word
- Strong organization and time-management skills
- Strong analytical skills and the proven ability to pay close attention to detail
- Proven experience of providing administrative support
- Excellent record keeping skills, both electronically and for hard copies
- A high degree of accuracy in work practices and ability to cope well under pressure
- The ability to create, manage and maintain databases and write reports
- An ability to work on deadlines.
- Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. The 20 hours per week will be agreed according to the program needs.
