Our Spring Semester ESL and GED classes have begun and are full. Appointments for our Fall semester can be made beginning on September 7th, 2015. Questions? Call Lauren McLellan, 407-880-4673, ext. 230.

GED Preparation Classes

Hope offers two sessions of GED/ABE classes each year, one in the Fall and one in the Spring. Classes are on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Morning classes are from 10 a.m. – 12:45 p.m.

Evening classes are from 6:30 – 9 p.m.

Our next semester will begin in September and will run until early Spring 2016.  Appointments can be made starting September 7th. Class availability is first-come first-served. The fee for new students is $70, including books.

Students are tested using the TABE curriculum and then placed in Adult Basic Education classes based on their level. The classes teach basic education (Math, Language, and Reading) to bring students up to the 12th grade level. Once a student is ready, they move into a class to help them study and prepare for the GED test. When a student is ready to take the GED test, they can sign up online (ged.com) to test at whichever location is easiest for them. HCC is not a testing center.

For additional information on GED classes, or for volunteer opportunities in Adult Education, please contact Lauren McLellan, [email protected], or call 407-880-4673 ext. 230.

English as a Second Language (ESL)

Hope offers two sessions of ESL each year, one in the fall and another in the spring. All students must be tested and registered before classes begin.

Our ESL classes meet twice a week. Daytime classes are available from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday, and evening classes meet from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday and Wednesday. We use the CASAS system for testing and placement, and the Side by Side curriculum for classes. The ESL class is $40 for the semester, including the book.

Our next semester will begin in September and end in early Spring 2016. Appointments can be made starting September 7th. Class availability is first-come first-served
