Melissa Rosa-Alvarez, Career Development Coordinator for TRIO-Seminole State College, visited the April College Scholars meeting. This meeting, held monthly at HCC, gives HCC Scholarship recipients tools for succeeding in college. Melissa says she loves coming to HCC because she loves seeing students grow from freshman year to graduation. She enjoys the feedback she receives daily from students who help her to identify barriers to tackle for the next class of freshman.
The College Scholars meeting is hosted by HCC’s College & Career Access department, who work towards making careers and postsecondary education accessible to working poor and immigrant people.
