We say goodbye to winter on March 20 and hello to perfect weather and fun outdoors for a new spring season. Kermes, HCC’s springtime community festival, was held on Saturday at the Hawthorne campus. The smell of food sizzling on the grill, the sounds of kids playing and laughing, the music adding energy and fun, and colors everywhere at every station made for a nice welcome to the new season and a proper goodbye to winter.
We thank everyone for coming out and we would like to give a special thanks to Disney for the face painting, HCC’s Director of Donor Relations, Gina Castaño, for leading a fun Zumba session, Farmworkers Association of Florida for giving a preview of their new community garden, HCC’s Community Advisory Board for the incredible food, and of course, the Sin Fronteras Youth Group! All proceeds from the event will go towards funding counselors for Kids Camp this summer.
We use the Paypal service to securely process these donations, but you do NOT need a Paypal account to donate.
